DEREK FRASER

A graduate of the University of Manitoba and a diehard Winnipegger, Derek (b. 1988) has been teaching the last 14 years in Manitoba and currently runs a variety of instrumental music courses at Ecole Secondaire Oak Park High School. Always willing to try something new, he has been a guest clinician for musicians of all ages and volunteers with several different music committees and boards, including being a former Board Member of the WJO. When not sourcing new and exciting repertoire or finding new notes on the trumpet (he's almost graduated to using the 3rd valve), he spends his time with his wife, small children, or friends reading books, making music, golfing, playing Lego, learning French, playing boardgames, and fixing stuff.
